2012 Pres. Candidate Rick Perry: I Don’t Know If Obama’s Birth Certificate Is Real

From Parade Magazine:

Q: Governor, do you believe that President Barack Obama was born in the United States?

A: I have no reason to think otherwise.

Q: That’s not a definitive, “Yes, I believe he”—

A: Well, I don’t have a definitive answer, because he’s never seen my birth certificate.

Q: But you’ve seen his.

A: I don’t know. Have I?

Q: You don’t believe what’s been released?

A: I don’t know. I had dinner with Donald Trump the other night.

Q: And?

A: That came up.

Q: And he said?

A: He doesn’t think it’s real.

Q: And you said?

A: I don’t have any idea. It doesn’t matter. He’s the President of the United States. He’s elected. It’s a distractive issue.

There you have it. Governor Rick Perry believes Article II of the Constitution is a distraction. These experts know if it is real:

  8. rick perry's first executive order will be to give amnesty to illegal alien numero zerObama.

  9. He is definitely not getting my vote

  10. @Anonymous
Such a typical politician's statement. He throws a bone to those of us who legitimate challenge Obama's eligiblity while at the same time saying that the issue is a distraction and it doesn't matter because Obama is the president.

  11. Newt has the best chance to investigate this foreigner after he's elected. The truth will come out one way or the other if we put newt in office!!!!!

  12. "Q: Governor, do you believe that President Barack Obama was born in the United States?

A: I have no reason to think otherwise."

Obviously he is an idiot, a damned liar and a coward and not worthy to be the President of "We the People".

Next. We can surely do better than this fraud.

"Such a typical politician's statement. He throws a bone to those of us who legitimate challenge Obama's eligiblity while at the same time saying that the issue is a distraction and it doesn't matter because Obama is the president."

I couldn't have said it better than you and I second your emotions.
With friends like these....we have no hope!!

  14. the full quote was, "I don’t know If Obama’s birth certificate Is real, because I am a dumb-ass, crooked SOB who doesn't give a shit, vote for me...I'll say or suck anything to be elected..."

  15. Rick Perry is the most likely to make this an issue at some point, give him a break people, he's trying to secure the Repub nomination. I have no doubt about obama's fraud, because I've been reading all the facts and info for three years, most americans have not. That's why we here get it, but the majority still don't. Attacking a candidate who is a real conservative, because he's not yet gone total birther, is not productive people. And yes Perry is a real conservative. Give him some credit for having the guts to say that trump doesn't believe its real! The socialists in congress and the executive branch, along with the CORRUPT propagandist media are the real culprits here, people. Please let's stay focused on that!

  16. Gov gardasil? people seriously, NO one was forced to get that vaccine, the whole thing was merely suggested, its a vaccine, not the mark of the beast! And as a Texan, I can tell you, Perry is extremely tough on illegals, the whole instate tuition thing is a created canard to derail his candidacy. guess what? The Fed govt. FORBIDS any state anywhere from verifying citizenship of kids from K to 12, all over this country! WE educate kids of illegals, for 12 years for free!! Texas was not wrong, to go ahead and say, hey, pursue US citizenship! Pay for college! what's wrong with that? nothing, the whole thing is much ado about nothing.

  17. It so depresses me to see that after three years of Zero, and nearly a full year since the "shellacking" of 2010, there are still citizens who think a candidate proffered by the "R"s is going to make a difference after 2012. "Vote Newt", "Vote Cain", "Vote Bachmann".
What is the matter with you? If any of these candidates were screaming, "Arrest Raines", "Arrest Barack", "Arrest Bernanke", I would say, go ahead and vote for them. Fact is, they are NOT, and you had better not.
There is no candidate currently running under the mantle of the "R"s who has not already been co-opted by the party elites. EVERY ONE OF THEM is a "party hack"! Not one of them is going to stand by the Constitution, not even Ron Paul! He may move forward, but he is NOT going to look back.
Patriots, in 2010 the Tea Party warned the "R"s they were on probation. They didn't listen. Not one of them. Not Marco, not Allen, not ONE OF THEM! Once they set up in D.C., they began protecting their individual political livelihood by their silence. Each and every one of them became complicit in the cover-up. They have no intention of changing, now or EVER!
All I can say is, the Tea Parties have the numbers, and the opportunity to make a difference in 2012, but the ONLY way to accomplish that is to wrap your head around DUMPING BOTH PARTIES! Do NOT be swayed by any of these hacks who are currently running with the sanction of the "R" elite masters. They don't care about you!
WAKE UP! Both parties have been taken over by a "ruling class" that only seeks to enrich itself and it's cronies as they silently sit back and watch OUR America go down the drain.
May I suggest you check out:

  18. Mairi, while I understand your frustration, and I agree with some of your statements, I cannot go along with your strategy. If you support someone with no chance of winning, what have you done but waste your time? And more importantly, if one does not vote for the most Conservative candidate of the two, on election day, all you have done is give one more vote to obama. think about it and you'll realize that is a fact. I'm a conserv, tea supporter, all that, but if all else fails in our efforts to expose this fraud, we MUST not allow obama and his socialist agenda to win again!

  19. Mairi and Linda, and everybody,
Is is no use just be angry with these candidates for not addressing o elig issue. We must unite to send them an unmistakeable message that we won't vote for them unless they address this issue by--
voting en masse for Dummett on the R side, and Cody Robert Judy on the Dem side in the primary.
Check out Cody Judy here -

With a respectable number of votes for these 2 candidates who challenge obama during the campaign, they will get the message. It won't hurt the R candidates since they are all the same anyway.
For the general election, if Dummett or Cody are not the nominee, then we vote against obama no matter what.

  20. "He’s the President of the United States. He’s elected. It’s a distractive issue."

And with that statement Rick Perry made his candidacy a distractive issue.

  21. @Linda

    "trump doesn't believe its real!"

Trump is just getting ready for another season of his TV game show. He is using everyone again.

  22. Confusion reigns over eligibility issue

There's a brand-new "birther" in town, the media would like you to know.

It's Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who suggested in an interview he's not sure if he has seen Barack Obama's real birth certificate – yet, he adds, has no reason to doubt his birth story.

Why are the media so determined to smoke out high-profile skeptics on the issue of Obama's truthfulness about his birth narrative?

    Very simple.

Because the Big Media are engaged in a classic disinformation campaign to intimidate anyone who is serious about the Constitution and its requirements for the office of the presidency – or, for that matter, what the Constitution says about anything.

Any serious debate about Obama's eligibility should have ended a long time ago. He's not eligible. It matters not where he was born – which, ironically, is still very much in doubt. What matters is that he was not born of parents who were American citizens at the time. That's what "natural born citizen" means. It does not mean "born in the USA," much as Obama and his protectors in the media would like you to think.

Not only do the media activists attempt to obscure the clear meaning of the Constitution in their breathless assertion that anyone born in the USA is "natural born," they also, I believe, seek to attack at its root the reliance on "original intent," which couldn't be clearer.

Keep in mind, the American colonies were just that – colonies of the British crown. Prior to the Magna Carta, natural born subjects were those born under the jurisdiction of the king. But that definition changed with the Magna Carta and the British Nationality Act of 1772, which declared that children born of British subjects outside the jurisdiction of the crown be natural born subjects. That would thus be the undeniable interpretation of the framers of the Constitution – substituting only the word "citizen" for "subject."

To underscore this point, the 1790 Uniform Naturalization Act, passed just one year after the Constitution was ratified, defined minor children of aliens as U.S. citizens only upon naturalization of the father.

"Natural Born Citizen" was defined by an 1875 Supreme Court ruling (Minor v. Happersett) as children born of two U.S. citizens – regardless of the location of the birth. It found: "The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners."

This legal principle was restated, ironically, in 2008 by the U.S. Senate in confronting concerns over the eligibility of presidential candidate John McCain. The U.S. Senate resolved by a 99-0 vote, which included one cast by Obama himself, that McCain was indeed eligible because both his parents were U.S. citizens. It mattered not that he was born in Panama. It wasn't even an issue.

Neither does it need to be an issue of where Obama was born.
